Alan Scott is the Golden Age Green Lantern, first appearing in All-American Comics #16 (July 1940). He differs significantly from later Green Lanterns associated with the Green Lantern Corps.
Scott gained his powers from a magical green flame emanating from a lantern forged from a fallen meteorite. This lantern granted him abilities like flight, super strength, and the power to conjure constructs by wielding a mystical ring.
Unlike the later Green Lanterns whose rings are powered by willpower and connected to the Lantern Corps, Scott's power originates from Earth's mystical energies. His ring requires periodic contact with his lantern to recharge.
